The CBBC Channel is a British television service aimed at 6 to 12 year olds produced by the BBC. It complements the CBBC programming that continues to air on BBC One and BBC Two. Launched on 11 February 2002 it broadcasts from 7am to 7pm on Freeview, cable and digital satellite, occupying the same bandwidth as, but a different channel position from, BBC Three. CBeebies is its sister service for younger children.

[edit] Current CBBC Channel presenters
Gemma Hunt and Anne Foy are the main presenters on the CBBC Channel. Gemma presents on the CBBC Channel, afternoons during school holidays, with Anne taking that role in term time, also she presents mornings in school holidays.

[edit] CBBC Extra
CBBC Extra is a free interactive television service from CBBC. It is accessiable from The CBBC Channel by pressing red and then selecting CBBC Extra. The service differs from digital platform for example on Sky viewers can access a video loop. This loop is sometimes available on Freeview but it depends on which other BBCi services are being shown at the time. CBBC Extra is also available from any other BBC channel by pressing red and going to page number 570. CBBC Extra offers 'Nev's Horoscopes', 'Ask Aaron' (an agony uncle which can also be accessed on CBBC's Yourlife website), jokes sent in by other children, a weekly competition among other things.
[edit] CBBC Extra 'Video Loop' Presenters
The CBBC Extra video loop is not always available on Freeview channel 301. It is only shown when BBCi are not showing other interactive services such as Wimbledon. If you are a Sky viewer you can watch the CBBC Extra 'Video Loop' by going to BBCi from any BBC Channel and then go to Page Number 570 and you can watch the CBBC Extra 'Video Loop' from there.
Recently CBBC Extra has got a new studio and full time presenter which is *Matt Edmondson.
[edit] Studio Runners
Recently added to the BBCi menu is Studio Runners. This is a free and interactive games made by CBBC. You either play for the girls or the boys team and you have to guide the character around a maze opening doors and collecting CBBC starts on the way. The game is avaliabe from the main BBCi menu or from pressing red on the CBBC Channel.
