Cellular South

Cellular South is the largest privately held wireless provider in the United States and is licensed to provide wireless service to a total population of more than five million people, which includes the Memphis Metropolitan Area, throughout all of Mississippi, along Coastal Alabama inluding Mobile, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle through Destin/Seaside. The company's headquarters is in downtown Jackson, Mississippi, although a new headquarters is currently under construction in Ridgeland, Mississippi, just north of Jackson.
Cellular South uses CDMA technology and utilizes roaming agreements with other national and regional CDMA providers.
Cellular South is also known for sponsoring many sports and athletic events throughout the region they serve. Some of these include:
- The Cellular South Cup professional tennis tournament in Memphis
- The University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, University of Southern Mississippi and University of Memphis athletic programs
- The Memphis Redbirds and Mississippi Braves minor league baseball teams
- The Memphis RiverKings hockey team
