Central Español Fútbol Club, usually known simply as Central Español is an Uruguayan football club based in Montevideo.Together with Peñarol Central founded F.U.F (Uruguayan futbol federation) in 1923 after being expulsed from A.U.F.The F.U.F even made a parallel Uruguayan national team (dissident to that of A.U.F) that played several international games based on Peñarol and Central squads. After 3 years of existence the new federation was dissolved and both teams returned to A.U.F. Central merged with Español in 1971.Central itself born from another merge,'Solís Bochas' and 'Soriano Polideportivo'

note:The colours of Central Español were inspired by the flag of Artigas. The origins of Club Nacional de Football colours are doubtfully,because would have been taken from Montevideo FC and Uruguay Athletic that were red/blue,and Nacional never worn a sash,as in the artigas flag.
