Chameleon is a prestige class in the 3.5 version of the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. It can be found in Races of Destiny. There are those who seem able to adapt to almost any situation. They seem to know a little about everything. Chameleons are characters who can display qualities of other classes. They can be a fighter one day, and a cleric the next. They can be as sneaky as rogues and as valiant as paladins. Although perhaps not as powerful as someone whose life is dedicated to their class, chameleons are the pinnacle of versatility.

[edit] Requirements for Chameleons
To become a chameleon, a character must be adept at disguising themselves, bluffing, reading other people and know a little about spells. A character must also be able to learn easily, and acquire new skills with little difficulty. Only humans and dopplegangers can become chameleons. Any class can become a chameleon, but rogues and bards are most common.
[edit] Abilities
Chameleons are experts in understanding other classes and their abilities. They have four main areas of focus; divine, combat, arcane and wild. As they become more powerful, they can change their focus more often and can maintain more than one focus at a time. They also are able to emulate specific abilities generally only available to specific classes. They can rage, sneak attack, smite enemy and turn/rebuke undead. As they level up, they can emulate these class abilities more frequently. When chameleons change their focus, they can also add a bonus to one of their attributes (Strength, Dexterity, etc.). This bonus also increases as the chameleon levels up.
[edit] Spells
When choosing the divine focus, the chameleon gains a number of divine spells. He prepares and casts these spells like a cleric. When choosing the arcane focus, he gains the ability to cast arcane spells. He prepares these spells in the same manner as a wizard, so he must have a spellbook.
