Channel [V] is an international music channel chain. Owned by STAR TV, it is aired in many countries around Australasia, Asia and the Middle East. They play both mainstream and alternative music, with some focus on local music. Mainly English music is played, though the country-specific channels do play content of their own mother tongue.

The letter V is the subject of many theories, but none of them are confirmed as to what the letter stands for. The leading theory points to V for victory. Another theory pits the V as a random end alphabet popular in Asia such as XYZ. Another possible theory is V as in video.

The Channel [V] in the Philippines was the former UHF Channel of the GMA Network- Citynet TV 27. The fate of Channel [V] Philippines has been murky since the announcement of the acquisition of a controlling stake in GMA Networks by telecom giant PLDT was made. While GMA operated Channel [V] Philippines, the PLDT company Nation Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) runs rival music video network MTV Philippines. This in turn is a joint venture between MTV Asia and NBC involving a 24-hour terrestrial broadcast of MTV Asia over UHF Channel 41 (and piped to Philippine cable networks) and the development of more Philippine-oriented programming. Channel [V] Philippines has officially shut down broadcasting as of July 25, 2001. Channel [V] still maintains a presence on pay-TV Philippine cable networks as Channel [V] International.

Before under in partnership and produced with STAR TV but it was canceled due to conflict of interest both parties in 1995). It suddenly signed off to Channel 23 then replaced by Studio 23 which is handled by the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. When Citynet UHF Channel 27 (handled by GMA Network) went into broadcast, some Channel [V] shows is being shown as a replay.
