The Chechnya national football team is not internationally recognized. It represents the Chechen people of the Russian republic of Chechnya.
Chechnya is neither a member of FIFA nor UEFA and does not participate in international tournaments. The goal of the France-based Chechnya Football Federation, which was formed in 2005 and controls the team, is to gain official status. They are provisional members of the New Federations Board, which organizes matches for non-official national teams, and have accepted an invitation to take part in the inaugural VIVA World Cup.
