From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Christopher George Charles Nevill, 6th Marquess of Abergavenny (b. 23 April 1955) is the son of Lord Rupert Charles Montecute Nevill and Lady Ann Camilla Evelyn Wallop He became Marquess of Abergavenny on the 23rd February 2000 when his Uncle, who had no surviving male heir, died. He also succeeded to the following titles:
- Lord of Abergavenny
- Viscount Nevill
- Earl of Lewes
- Earl of Abergavenny
He was educated in Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London
He married Venetia V. Maynard, daughter of Frederick Gerard Maynard, in 1985.
Children:
- George Rupert Gerard Nevill b. 27 Jun 1990, d. 15 Sep 1990
- Sophie Alice Augusta Nevill b. 27 Jun 1990
As there is no male heir to the Marquessate of Abergavenny and the Earldom of Lewes, those titles will presumably become extinct upon his death.
Heir Presumptive to the Earldom of Abergavenny and Viscountcy of Nevill is David Michael Ralph Nevill (great-grandnephew of the 1st Marquess of Abergavenny.)
