Clarendon is a Washington Metro station in Arlington County, Virginia on the Orange Line. It is also scheduled to be on the Silver Line route, which is scheduled to start operations in 2011. The station is located at Wilson Boulevard and North Highland Street, in the core of the Clarendon neighborhood.
Architecturally, it shares the arched concrete coffers of its generation of stations, a single entrance and separate platforms for eastbound and westbound passengers. Unlike most Metro stations, it is shallow enough that its mezzanine can be reached by walking down stairs alone (as well as the usual escalators).
Service began on December 1, 1979 with the extension of the Orange Line to Ballston station.
