Clear Rivers is one of the main characters in the film Final Destination and its sequel Final Destination 2. She is portrayed by Ali Larter.

[edit] Before Flight 180

Clear's childhood was generally happy. She lived with her mother and father in a small New York town until her father died. He had gone to the store and was shot in the head by a man robbing it. Later on, her mother re-married, and got rid of Clear when her step-father decided that he didn't want a child. She went back to her childhood home where she lived with her dog. Apparently, she also maintained her father's cabin across a river from her house. Clear was a senior in high school when she decided to go on the trip to France on Flight 180.

In Final Destination 1, Clear is shown as a lonely, but intelligent young woman. She feels a connection to Alex Browning, the boy who foresaw the Flight 180 disaster, and when he enters a fight and is removed from the plane, she follows. Clear claims to have experienced feelings regarding the vision that Alex had, but doesn't believe in Death's plan. After all but two others (Alex and Carter) die, Death comes for her at her house, but when Alex intervenes, she survives. Thinking that they've beat Death, Clear, Alex, and Carter go to France, where (Clear is shown with blonde hair instead of the brown hair and bangs she had throughout the rest of the film) they discover that Death is still hunting them when Carter is killed.

When her character is revisted in Final Destination 2, Clear is shown to have admitted herself into a psychiatric hospital where she's confined to a padded cell, and has posted newspaper clippings and pictures of the survivors of Flight 180. It is revealed that Alex was killed off screen, and that Clear locked herself up for her own protection. She was later visited by a young woman named Kimberly who had a vision similar to Alex's regarding the Route 23 pile-up, and was hoping to enlist Clear's help. Clear initially turns her down, but later changes her mind, and checks herself out of the hospital. Clear uses her knowledge of Death's design to try and save the traffic accident survivors, and realizes that Death's design is greater this time. All of the survivors from Final Destination 2 were supposed to die before the traffic accident, but Clear realizes that Death is wrapping everything up. For example, a teacher name Eugene was supposed to die when a student came to school planning to kill him, but he was relocated, replacing Mrs. Lewton, a survivor from Fligh 180. Clear dies in an explosion when she's trying to save Eugene in a hospital after he is impaled in a car accident.
