Cleveland Rocks

"Cleveland Rocks" is a rock song written by Ian Hunter. It appears on Ian Hunter's 1979 album You're Never Alone With A Schizophrenic. It also appears as part of a medley on Ian Hunter's 1998 album Welcome to the Club. The medley also featured his songs "Once Bitten Twice Shy" and "Bastard."
A cover of the song recorded by Presidents of the United States of America served as the opening song for one of the several different openings for theThe Drew Carey Show.
The song is also seen as a de facto anthem in Cleveland, Ohio.
In the late 1990s Australian radio station Triple M remade a parody of the song as part of a station promo - calling it "Triple M Rocks". As of Spring 2006, WLW in Cincinnati is playing a "Cleveland Sucks" parody to promote its coverage of Cincinnati Reds games by way of stoking the rivalry between the Reds and the Cleveland Indians which has evolved since the advent of interleague play.
