- It's usually best to reply on other people's talk pages, so they're alerted. If you reply here, they might catch it, but might not. :)

- By the way, my Useful Stuff page is in turn stolen from User:Angela. ;) Ambi 22:23, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Cytogenetics
Warmly applaud expansion and factualisation of cytogenetics. Do you have any major plans? There are pages on Philadelphia chromosome (I wrote it...) but there is a lot of stuff to be done on chromosomal translocation and related issues. And I'm just a curious clinician with no experience in cytogenetics... JFW | T@lk 21:06, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Comptroller
Hi, I removed the delete tag on Comptroller. I'm monitoring the newbie who created it. -- PFHLai 05:51, 2004 Sep 7 (UTC)
Looks like some other admins have taken care of Guitar.com Miscellaneous Forum. Thanks for the alert. -- PFHLai 05:58, 2004 Sep 7 (UTC)
Hi Rhyax, thanks for fixing up my pages (Martin Walkyier etc). I am a newbie but like to add what little I know to the world!!
Was surprised to see a comment on Lipscomb so promptly! It's been 30 years since I went there, just for one summer. But my recollection is that it was one Bible class per semester. I remember going twice a week. Now chapel WAS a daily requirement--could that be what you remember? RivGuySC 04:58, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- You could be right about the number of hours being the determining factor. I think I only took two classes besides the Bible one. RivGuySC 14:21, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Rappelling
Somebody has redirected it to Abseil (a word I never heard of before). What was wrong with it? RickK 00:00, Sep 18, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Phyllodactylus angustidigitus
Hi Judson, thanks for formatting the Phyllodactylus angustidigitus page, I for sure am a newcomer to Wikipedia, and hope to learn more as I spend more time reading the tutorial and editing pages. What further cleanup does the page need?
Thank you for the quick reply. I have added a tagbox to the page, and will wait for further comments from anyone participating in the Wikipedia Tree of Life project.
[edit] beta Systemic Bias section
Hi, if you wish to help contribute to a beta version of a Wikipedia page section designed to counter-act Wikipedia's systemic bias, please sign the bottom of this section on the Village pump - Wikipedia:Village_pump#Systemic_bias_in_Wikipedia. If not, no worries.--Xed 03:54, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Microsoft Campus Agreement
it's kinda late, but thanks for the welcome!
anyway, you had suggested that more information be added to the Microsoft Campus Agreement wikipedia article - what kind of information did you have in mind?
also, how do you add a link to your usertalk page? TerraFrost 05:46, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Voice of America
Hello Cohesion, thank you for your notice on the discussion-section of 80.184.81.252. My edit was not a test on the article Voice of America. I would like to add an interwiki-link to the German-language artice Voice of America and I destroyed the link Judy Massa on error. Sorry for this. Why have your "reverted" the interwiki-link, too? Greetings -- 80.184.81.252 09:16, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Wikinews demo up and running
Hi!
I'm writing to let you know that the Wikimedia Board of Trustees has approved the first stage of the Wikinews project. There's now a fully operational English demo site at demo.wikinews.org. This will be used for experimenting with various review models and basic policies before the site is launched officially in about a week. demo.wikinews.org will become the English version later.
You voted for the Wikinews project, so I'm asking for your participation now. Everything is open, nothing is final. What Wikinews will and can be depends in large part on you. There already is a global Wikinews mailing list for discussing the project. If you are interested at all, please subscribe -- coordination is of key importance. There's also an IRC channel #wikinews on irc.freenode.net. Realtime discussion can help to polish up articles.
If you're looking for something to do, check out the articles in development and articles in review. Or start a new story in the Wikinews workspace, or ignore the proposed review system - it's up to you. I hope you'll join us soon in this exciting experiment.--Eloquence* 02:00, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
[edit] Image
Hello, your personal image was listed as needing a tag, i listed it as gfdl, but I noticed you are multi-licesnse so you might want to make it PD if you want. Just letting you know :) - cohesion ☎ 07:22, Mar 28, 2005 (UTC)
- Generally I put my images in to the PD, but in the case of an image of myself I will reserve the right to decide how it is used. But thanks for asking. Thue | talk 09:13, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image source
I have clarified the source of Image:Threshold detector with hysteresis.jpg. I created this image personally using a simple (free) CAD program and Microsoft Paint. Its copyright status should now be very clear, so it should not be considered for deletion. Acaides 12:25, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Aaltuit - tripod/LYCOS site not authorized
Tripod/LYCOS was notified to remove the obsolete web site http://aaltuit.tripod.com which I created as a temporary free site many years ago. When Tripod/LYCOS went to a PAY ONLY site, I declined but they did not remove the site, contrary to my wishes then or now.
The wikipedia 'AALTUIT' entry includes text references from the most recent AALTUIT site which I both authored and host on one of my web sites, uniqon.com.
http://aaltuit.uniqon.com is the only authorized AALTUIT site.

[edit] Nonsense
'Sokay. I was on NP patrol too, and had seen the same user create quite a few little stubs like that that look like gibberish out of context. Otherwise I wouldn't have recognized it as real. --Dmcdevit·t 21:36, July 28, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Divinity
I'm trying to lose weight, so creating the article was torture for me. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 10:49, 31 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Re: AFD of meditative art
You're right - there isn't really somewhere to take pages like that. As for it being made up, I've heard it maybe twice in three years of part-time work as an arts reviewer, but in that business it's often difficult to tell what terms are simply neologisms. It would seem a shame to waste what looks like quite a lot of effort on the page, though. Perhaps renaming it to Monochromatic art would be a better solution, since that's a more widely used term. Currently grisaille has a link to monochrome, which isn't a very useful link - linking it to a new Monochromatic art page would probably be much more helpful, too. Grutness...wha? 00:10, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
