About me? Why would I do that? Why would I possibly want to be so vain as tell the world about myself, especially when I am anonymous here? It's just not me - I have no home page. I have no blog. I have no web site. I do like to read and contribute to Wikipedia - so I get this space along with my account. Sometimes I like to see the pages of those who contribute, if they contribute something that interests me. So if you are reading this, it's beacuse you specifically wanted to know who I was.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I have kids. I wrote the article for North Blackburn, where I grew up. I now live in Frankston South, which I have also written most of.

I know what 1337 is but I prefer to contribute using proper words. Once I was in a magnitude 6.8 earthquake (and survived, obviously). I was stuck under a car once and nearly died. I knew Ronnie Biggs.

I read Wikipedia a lot, and have started writing articles. My first one was Asalouyeh. I often edit articles that get my attention, and quickly lose interest and move on to another one. I have also created articles recently on Karmein Chan, Eloise Worledge, Olivers Hill and Jacqueline Pascarl-Gillespie.

For a time I worked in a Tandy Electronics store, as Radio Shack were known here in Australia. I got into computers through that, and bought a 300 baud modem, and got into Fidonet. All this is before the Internet came about. Now I work with IP networks as my job.

Due to my Aspergers Syndrome, among other things I have narrow intense interests, some of which are short lived. Some these include geography, road building (especially Freeways), maps, travel and anything to do with Iran. After 40 years of no interest, I am now intensely interested in my physical fitness, as well as cooking and gardening. I like taking pictures of road signs. I like tunnels. I like foreign languages, and although I can only speak English I know a few words in a couple of dozen other languages, due to my travel.

One unfortunate aspect of my Aspergers is that I sometimes come across as rude and direct, which can offend. I have no idea I am doing it and that is not my intention - it leaves people upset with me and I have no idea that they are, or that I did anything wrong. Most of the time I come across as quiet and reserved, with occasional bursts of chatter. Inside I am totally normal, Aspergers just makes it difficult for me to establish relationships with new people (amongst other things), and deal with others. I'm not a nut case - and I may even be smarter than you are. Sadly I suspect it's getting worse - and there's no cure.

I lived in the UK for two years, Brussells, Belgium for six months and Tehran, Iran, for one year. While in Iran I travelled around a lot, visiting places like Qom, Esfahan and Qazvin. I visited several ski resorts in Iran including Dizin and Tochal, and may trips into the Alborz mountains. I also made a couple of trips up to the Caspian Sea. I also visited the massive Industrial complex at Assaluyeh.

I have also worked around the Persian Gulf in Dubai, Qatar, Saudi and Iran. I have also done short term work in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the USA, Egypt, South Africa, Thailand, Malaysia. the Phillippines and the Dominican Republic.

I've been to the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Machu Picchu, the Pyramids of Giza and Stonehenge. These are things I always wanted to do that I can now cross of my list. I really, really, like to travel, and I have so far been to 35 countries on six continents. I have lost interest in going places everybody else does, and I now enjoy adventure travel, and going places that other tourists tend to avoid, thus my recent one year spent in Iran. My now intense interest in Iran is also probably a result of my Aspergers.
