Council for Christian Colleges and Universities
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities is an organization designed to help Christian institutions of higher education cooperate and communicate with one another. Full membership is limited to regionally accredited "intentionally Christ-centered" institutions located in North America that employ only "persons who profess faith in Jesus Christ" as full-time faculty members and administrators.[1] Founded in 1976 with 38 members, the CCCU [2] has grown to 105 members in North America and 75 affiliate institutions in 24 countries. The CCCU is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C..
The CCCU administers a number of student programs [3] around the world. More than 700 students take part in these programs each year. Students of CCCU member institutions have the opportunity to participate in study abroad programs in Australia, China, Latin America, the Middle East, Oxford, Russia, and Uganda. There is also a public affairs program and a journalism program in Washington, DC; a contemporary music program on Martha's Vineyard; and a film studies program in Los Angeles.
