Russian, I hope you will learn from what I wrote to you, because I would like you to edit my articles. I am working with these people to create them, and I need a discerning eye to make sure I don't become partisan. that's where you'd come in. But, you'd need to have a gentle touch, like the Anne Murray song. So, I respect your work. Now respect the breadth of what I am doing, and help me with it. Editt it in a good, valuable way. I'll be thankful. Never in a rush, though. Think about why I wrote something and make good decisions about what you think I wanted, and what actually is merited by Wikipedia policy, of which you know very well. --DavidShankBone 05:51, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman edits

May I ask why you removed the "history" section and introduction on Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman?

Abolsutely: it was a copyright-violating copy-paste from their website. - CrazyRussian talk/email 01:20, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

A RfA thank you from en:User:Xyrael

WikiThanks

I'd like to thank you Crzrussian for either supporting, opposing, commenting, nominating, reading, editing, promoting and/or anything else that you may have done for my successful request for adminship (I've broken the one thousand sysop barrier!); I'm thanking you for getting involved, and for this I am very grateful. I hope to be able to serve Wikipedia more effectively with my new tools and that we can continue to build our free encyclopedia, for knowledge is power, but only wisdom is liberty. Please do feel free to get in touch if you feel you can improve me in any way; I will be glad to listen to all comments. Again, thanks 8)             —Xyrael / 12:01, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Car supermarket

I notice that you redirected the car supermarket article to Carcraft on the grounds that it was a "neologism unique to Carcraft". This is not so, it is a generic term, and I have now changed this to an appropriate article and removed the redirect.

Long-Overdue RfA Thanks from Alphachimp

Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which was successful with a an overwhelmingly flattering and deeply humbling total of 138/2/2 (putting me #10 on the RfA WP:100). I guess infinite monkey theorem has been officially proven. Chimps really can get somewhere on Wikipedia.

With new buttons come great responsibility, and I'll try my best to live up to your expectations. If you need assistance with something, don't hesitate to swing by my talk page or email me (trust me, I do respond :)). The same goes for any complaints or comments in regard to my administrative actions. Remember, I'm here for you.

(Thanks go to Blnguyen for the incredible photo to the right.) alphaChimp laudare 05:30, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for all the great advice. I can't wait to support the next RfA (or conom, could I???) alphaChimp laudare 05:30, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Vornado Air Circulation Systems

You claim there is "oodles of media coverage". I found none. If you have some, please list it, else I'm liable to AFD. Thanks meatclerk 19:03, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Yessir, will do. - CrazyRussian talk/email 19:09, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your cooperation. I take your tone to be slightly sarcastic, which is fine. It seems the holiday weekends bring out all the gouls in us. In any case, I've put up a reminder that on 10/01/2006 I should check on this article. You have my support until then on any incursions on your efforts to resolve this question. Thanks again for your cooperation. Best regards meatclerk 04:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Quite sarcastic. Basically there's quite enough. Consumer reports cover their products, which is a major component of WP:CORP, there are many magazine features of their fans, as listed on their site, their fans were apparently heavily promoted at VMA's, and that's about all I could find. I am not sure how much of this belongs in the articles (prob. little) but it makes a good case against deletion. - CrazyRussian talk/email 13:30, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Sadly the articles you propose are not enough. My involvement in this is to relieve the article from being orphaned.
Rescuing products for inclusion, even in regular encyclopdia, is difficult. I must admire you fortitude in this endeavour. As such, here are the guidelines to assist you in this venture.
WP:Corp is the correct section to reference. Namely you may wish to put your attentions to WP:Corp#Criteria_for_companies_and_corporations. Following this line, rather than trying to follow the criteria for products will be easier. Namely the former (products) would mean we would have to remove the portions about the corporation, then backtrack to include them.
As you will read one of three methods help establish a corporation for inclusion. I prefer No. 1 as getting two or more articles (they say multiple) on a company seems an easy task, but it can be tricky. You'll note the items for exclusion include trival works, such as listing the name, phone number or website. However, finding mention in non-WWW media seems easier, and some prefer this becuase they might have it at hand. This accomplishs the task, and leaves verification for others. In any case, please stay clear of rabbit holes in your venture. Best Regards meatclerk 18:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Stub Creation

I can't believe Emory didn't have a page. That's great work you are doing. I only contacted attorneys who already had stubs. I figured if I put a photo up, people might have more of a desire to edit. It makes them more real. I have more coming up. The problem is then I feel responsible for doing the biography--haha. --DavidShankBone 23:27, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Illustrate the organization

But doesn't it qualify for fair use if a person is intrinsically linked with an organization. Say, Michael Eisner's page having a Disney logo during his time as Chairman. Wouldn't that qualify for Fair Use, especially since the heads of organizations are often the embodiment of the organization (Sandy Weil, Jack Welch, Ken Lay...). I believe that qualifies. What is the argument against that? I also believe this was closely related to a moot court question I researched last fall. --DavidShankBone 02:30, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

AfD

Grrrr. I deleted it earlier, but I feel it's too much of a conflict of interest for me to close the AfD, even if the author requested it. alphaChimp laudare 03:43, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I'll close it -- Samir धर्म 03:43, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Winhunter's RfA thanks

Hi Crzrussian, thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which was closed as successful today with a finaly tally of (56/0/3). I will be very careful at first to avoid any mistakes. Userbox Removal

I noticed you recently removed a parody of a userbox from my userpage, citing WP:BLP as the reason.

As you are surely one from who we should learn, so I merely pointed out to user "Justforasecond" that his paraphrase about Woody Allen (not intended as a paradoy or joke): a lot of evidence says he molested his biological daughter, dylan' is a claim of the most slanderous nature and that he might want to remove it from his talk page, or at least source it if it were true, instead of citing "a lot of evidence." I thought this might have been better than slaughtering his talk page, although I can see that removing the claim immediately was probably the right thing to do.

In any event, his response was to ignore my comment, call me a troll, and remove it from the talk page. His comment alleging, unfoundedly and without sources or evidence, that Woody Allen is a child molester, remains on this talk page. As per my comment, I am happy to have it on his talk page if he can show it is more than "a lot of [vauge] evidence" and accusations. I refer you to the relevant edit.

JPD's RfA

Thanks, Crazy Russian, for your support and comments at my RfA, which finished with a tally of 94/1/0. I hope I live up to the confidence you have shown in me in my activities as an administrator. I still think that a reasonably tight reading of CSD A7 was relevant in the case that you mention, but I understand that it wasn't intended to cover websites, so I won't use it to delete any. JPD (talk) 15:46, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

P'tcha

Deprodded. WP:JEW and WP:OJ have both been asked to expand. - CrazyRussian talk/email 04:50, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm good with your decision to deprod (excellent actually). I'm always in favor of making an article out of a topic if we can; as it was written I couldn't see anything except transwiki to wikitionary, but with luck WP:JEW or WP:OJ can beef it up. Thanks for the heads up.
Why that strange header on your talk page. I find your additions thoughtful and read them regularly. Did you run crosswise in some imprudent fashion, or...? Williamborg (Bill) 04:57, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

notability?

In relation to 215 records, I agree that it's not a band (and mistakenly thought that was in the tag).... on the other hand, I fail to see what argues for notability. Even "sort of". No matter, though, it'll die in a couple days anyway. Have a good day. --Storkk 13:40, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Anti-circumcision

I saw your comment on Ashley_Y's talk page and felt insulted and must address this. The anti circumcision movement is not thinly veiled antisemitism. It is a human rights movement. To claim that it is thinly veiled antisemitism is cultural arrogance at best, outright religious bigotry against others at worst. Want to voluntarily get yourself circumcised as an adult? be my guest. We oppose forced circumcision. It is no different than female genital mutilation. Believe what you will about me, but I don't for one thing - if you accuse me of being an antisemite then you're flat out wrong. Lordkazan 19:14, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

My response in full to your question is on my talk page - yes it should be banned until 18 years of age except in cases of clear medical need. No exemptions for religion (infact making exemptions for religion would render the law unconstitutional). Just like the female genital mutilation law. Circumcision is NO different (except for that you practice MGM and not FGM) Lordkazan 02:33, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Danberg article

A quick note on my edits. 1) I beleive these nav boxes in general have become way to big and ugly and the whole concept needs to be rethought. Having a nav box for every office that someone holds makes many articles look really unprofessional. The answer is already there with categories. They provide exactly the same info if done correctly. This is important, I think, and I ask you to give it some thought. 2) Less important is the use of a middle initial in a name. It is standard practice in the real world, if not in WP. And I'll bet it's on his business card. What harm does it do? Are we running out of disk space? :) I was just trying to clean up a messy stub someone stuck out there and certainly don't want to start a fuss. I hope you enjoy your tavelling in Delaware. stilltim 03:51, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

'Rambamist' opinion

See Modern attempts to revive the Sanhedrin. The 'Rambamist' section should preferably be deleted completely. (As should my section on 'Dutch extreme anti-Zionists'.) If we start listing every tiny little group which only exists on the internet and pretend that they are very large and influential, the article becomes total nonsense (which it already is, in any case). Please join in getting that whole section about this 'ronware' forum deleted. That forum has 5 real members. Calling the opinions of 5 anonymous people on an internet forum sufficient to include a section in that article is totally ridiculous. Rav Kapach has nothing to do with it - he never said anything about a 'Sanhedrin', he died long before these kofrim even came up with their despicable plan. And I don't think I need to explain to you that something is wrong when Ashkenazi Americans suddenly pretend to be Teimanim. This is not a serious movement and it deserves no mentioning on Wikipedia. --Daniel575 | (talk) 19:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Welcome back

Feel free to edit my main Floyd Abrams article, incomplete, but in a state where it can be edited, added to, etc. Still doing laborious memoir work. --DavidShankBone 19:20, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

The messy stub...

um... I stuck it there. Thanks for the compliment. Navboxes are on all 50 other AG's +DC, PR, Guam, USVI, and the NAAG article. Do you really want Danberg to stand out? Middle initials in title where necessary (George W. Bush) but otherwise completely optional: I am keeping it simple, stupid. - CrazyRussian talk/email 04:04, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

As to the navbox, please put it back in. If you want to use cats instead, get it deleted through WP:TFD. Until and unless, I think you should opt for uniformity. - CrazyRussian talk/email 04:08, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Borrowing a bit from Barry Goldwater, "uniformity in the pursuit of excellence is no virtue." How do we improve articles if we always opt for uniformity? I do not want to delete the nav box. It is quite useful on any article about the office of Attorney General or on the NAAG article, and probably many others. I also don't mind the Danberg article standing out. I suppose I could remove the nav box from the other 50 articles, but I think that would be too bold. I'm just trying to gradually introduce the idea that a nav box listing everyone that has done anything the subject of an article is famous for...may be too much (like this sentence). Perhaps you can suggest some forums to do so. I also recognize that middle initials are optional, but since that's the way he always signs his name, see [1], seems like we should do it his way when there is a choice. That actually would be the simple way...

Regarding my "compliment"...that was thoughtless, and I regret saying it. My apologies. I need to stop doing this in the middle of the night. I should have read your page and realized you were working a project. Regardless, I hope what I did improved the article, and that we can work together going forward. stilltim 03:24, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
