Fifteen-year-old Callie is confined to a mental hospital after the nurse sees her scars in an attempt to take her pulse. While Callie refuses to speak, she makes friends Sydney and Tiffany, who are drug abuse guests, Becca, Tara, and Tiffany, who suffer from weight issues, and Amanda, who also injures herself, and must come to terms with the reasons behind her self-mutilation.
