If I'm not mistaken Dakar has the only deep-water harbor on the west side of Africa, with the possible exception of Port Harcourt. I reckon that's one reason why it has become a sort of unofficial capital of West Africa.the sister cities. Maybe somebody can write up the Dakar International Trade Fair.
