Danny Murphy (born December 4, 1982 in London) is an English born Irish footballer currently playing for Scottish Premier League side Motherwell.
Murphy, a left full back, previously played for Queens Park Rangers, Swindon Town, Margate and Cork City. He signed for Cork in 2004 and helped win the Eircom League title in 2005. His passion, pride in wearing the jersey and sheer determination ensured he was a fan favourite at Turners Cross and earned him the sobriquet The Cockney Rebel.
Murphy joined Motherwell on January 1, 2007 when his contract at Cork expired,[1] making his debut as a substitute in the Steelmen's 1-0 defeat by Rangers the following day.[2]
