David Langford-Smith (born 7 December 1976 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian-born Ireland cricketer who, on 13 June 2006, became the first man to take a wicket in a One-Day International for Ireland, when he dismissed Ed Joyce (a former Ireland cricketer making his debut for England) at Belfast.
Langford-Smith played twice for MCC against Ireland in 2005, although these were not first-class matches. He played his first List A game against Hampshire in the 2006 C&G Trophy, and appeared five further times in the competition that year, though without any particular success.
He made his first-class debut for Ireland against Namibia in the 2006 ICC Intercontinental Cup, returning a good second-innings analysis of 14-4-22-4 as the Irish team recorded a five-wicket win.
Langford-Smith also turned out for Ireland at the 2006 European Championship, as their new ball bowler. Langford-Smith took three wickets in the opening game, against Denmark, which was won by 99 runs.
In Irish domestic cricket Langford-Smith plays for Phoenix Cricket Club, and was 1st XI captain in 2006 and 2007. He is also the co-coach for the Pheonix Under-15's Cricket team.
