[edit] The Adventures of Dr. McNinja
I am moving this from the proposed deletion section since this webcomic went through AFD rather than PROD. Here is the full text of his original request:
- The Adventures of Dr. McNinja, undelete request by PHDrillSergeant. This web comic has grown in poularity since the last time it was deleted through AFD, and although the site's archive has 'only three entries', each of those entries has about 20-40 pages, which adds up to over 100 pages total including the current storyline. This comic is extremely funny and is important, especially one who wishes to know more about this odd character and his adventures. I think this comic should get another chance. Because it has been recreated so frequently, the article for The Adventures of Dr. McNinja currently exists as a {{deletedpage}}. The relevant AfDs are listed on its talk page. –Abe Dashiell (t/c) 13:34, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Endorse deletion. Two AfDs with strong consensus to delete. Come back when it's syndicated in non-trivial treeware. Just zis Guy you know? 14:04, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- No, they should come back when WP:WEB is satisfied. We shouldn't advise people to meet non-required requirements. We do have a criteria to handle webcomics, and physical paper (e.g. "treeware") is not part of it. And that is very deliberate. We do wish to encourage, not discourage contributions that satisfy consensus guidelines. --Rob 07:59, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say that a cartoon which has no presence off the web is rarely notable. It is trivially easy to publish a webcomic. Just zis Guy you know? 09:49, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

- Endorse deletion Nomination's only claim of new information is that the comic's archive actually comprises 100 pages of text - this is not a compelling claim, to put it mildly. My diary exceeds this length by far, for example. No reason to overturn valid AfDs has been offered. Xoloz 16:08, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Oh really? So why do TIN The Incompetent Ninja, Grim Tales from Down Below, and PowerPuff Girls Doujinshi get their own articles? They are all web comics—with less pages than Dr. McNinja. In other words, What makes Dr. McNinja so inappropriate for Wikipeda, while these others are not? Something seems amiss to me.
- Remember, not everything is important to everyone, but some thigns are important to someone. If a good article can be assembled, then I am sure that it, too, can be a good addition to Wikipedia. P.H. - Kyoukan, UASC 17:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- And yes, I am volunteering to write the article. P.H. - Kyoukan, UASC 17:38, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- The existence of some articles of questionable notability is no reason to include another article of questionable notability. Feel free to nominate TIN The Incompetent Ninja, etc., for deletion if you wish. WP's deletion process is by-design piecemeal, and does not eliminate articles unless they are brought to community attention by CSD, PROD, or AfD tags.
- You are welcome to compose any article you wish in your own userspace. After composition, bring it to DRV, and if it satisfies the requirements of WP policy and guidelines (WP:NPOV, WP:V, WP:RS, WP:Notability, etc.) it will quickly be posted. Xoloz 17:52, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Endorse closure, keep deleted Concur with Xoloz, "There are other articles just as (issue)" is not a valid reason to have this one. One puppy's opinion. KillerChihuahua?!? 23:54, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
