[edit] The "Armor" level

I'm not too sure about saying "Armor" is a Digivolution level on its own.

In Digimon Adventure 02, it explains that armor digivolution was an ancient form of digivolution that was used when the digital world was still young and Digimon still needed help to Digivolve to the champion level (or ultimate level for golden armor i suppose).

So strictly speaking, Armor digivolution would have either bought digimon up to or closer to the champion level. I don't think it's a level on its own. --`/aksha 10:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

The Japanese Analyser screen says that Adult and Armor are two different levels:

It's not what you "think" that makes something right or wrong - it's what the souce says. If wikipedia was just a forum for our beliefs or opinions, it would have collapsed a long time ago.

Burst Mode is also a different level - the analyser screen clearly says that the digimon is no longer Ultimate level. I think it's about time for this fanfiction that there is no level above Ultimate to end, seeing as its so indefensible.128.211.254.142 22:10, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

But does the Analyzer give the name of a specifically different level? From what I gather there is no official source that says, "Such-and-suchmon is such-and-such level, a level greater than even the Ultimate level." Indiawilliams 23:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Fine, I'll say it again. For both Armor and Burst Mode, the Analyser clearly says "Armor" or "Burst Mode" in the level box, instead of "Adult" or "Ultimate". Furthermore, in V-Tamer, the first real digimon story, the entire plot is based on achieving a level higher than Ultimate. The ONLY basis for the "no higher level" myth is the cards (which do not say there isn't, they merely neglect to actually name one), and those aren't the MOST canon anyway - the anime and manga are, and in them, there IS a level past Ultimate.

From my understanding of how the cards work, you get more points based on what level the enemy was when you deleted him, versus your level. So re-inserting "Armor" and "Mega", when the points won would be essentially the same, would be horribly wasteful of time and money.128.211.254.142 15:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Sounds like you're reading too much into it. I can see Armor being considered a different "level", but when something says "mode"... -- Ned Scott 05:59, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Um. Huh? What? The Analyzer screens do not clearly state that the Digimon is no longer Ultimate. There is no level box, although level is usually placed beneath the name. In the case of the Burst Mode Digimon, due to the length of their names, they put it on two lines. The Japanese kanji for "level" is not added as a suffix. They simply state the Digimon's name, and the narrator makes no reference to Burst Mode being a level -- he treats it as part of their name. The Digivice Burst toys and the cards both confirm Burst Mode Digimon to be Ultimate level. It should be common sense anyway -- why would Burst Modes have any trouble against the Royal Knights if they were a higher level?

With Armor Evolution, it is specifically explained as an alternative means to reach the Adult level. Thus, Armor is a kind of Adult. Unless you're saying the show and the cards and the games are wrong here too? Or maybe you have another explanation for why all the Armor Digimon are also listed as Adult Digimon when they're evolved to without a Digimental?

Also, Super Ultimate did not come into play until years after the manga started. At any rate, even with the manga, the Super Ultimate Digimon have Super Ultimate as part of their name, and in all sources where they are given levels, they're listed as Ultimate Digimon, not Super Ultimates. The V-Pet profiles (V-Pets are older than V-Tamer!!!1111) back this up, by the way. All official information points to Super Ultimate being a classification of Ultimate, specifically Ultimate Digimon that evolved with the Super Ultimate Digimental.
