Hello!
My name is Dennis Nilsson and I am from Sweden. I go by the name "Dna-webmaster" on Wikipedia not because I am an operator; I chose the name because I'm the webmaster for another site, and I feel it is too late to change it now. I am glad to contribute to Wikipedia since I think it is a splendid project, and since I believe I have knowledge to offer. My interests are quite a few; the main being science, history, literature and music, and I believe strongly in the concept of Fair use.
The last couple of years I have been heavily studying European 20th century history - mainly the two world wars. Therefore I will try to contribute to these rather large areas in the best way I can. When I was younger I was rather uninterested in the world wars, until I realized the immense impact they have had on our world.
I sincerely recommend the following literature:
- Shirer, William L., The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, Simon & Schuster, 1959
- Beevor, Antony, Berlin - The Downfall 1945, Penguin Books, 2004
- Beevor, Antony, Stalingrad, Viking, London, 1998
- Ryan, Cornelius, The Last Battle, Simon and Schuster, New York, 1966
and the following documentary series:
- The World at War (1974), a marvelous 36 piece BBC series, stunningly extensive, informative and well-produced. It covers most aspects of WWII from many points of view.
Particular interests:
- History: General history, Ancient Rome, World War I, World War II
- Science: General physics, Astronomy, Particle physics, Artifical Intelligence, Animals
- Arts: Literature, Modern Music, Classical Music, Film, Photography
- Humor: George Carlin (everything), Bill Hicks, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Futurama
- Work interests: Research, Development & Design.
