Donkarasu (ドンカラス Donkarasu?, Donkarasu in original Japanese language versions) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Donkarasu in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
Donkarasu's name may derive from the Spanish title don, a word meaning lord which is often applied to mafia bosses, and the Japanese word for crow (烏 karasu?).

Biological characteristics
Donkarasu appears to be a large black raven, with a crest on its head resembling a fedora hat. It also has greyish white feathers on its chest, resembling a sort of white collared suit. The combined impression gives that of an old man or a stuffed shirt, perhaps similar to that of the Norse god Odin (who, incidentally had a pair of ravens named Hugin and Munin). Its name, behavior and species however, might suggest it is a sort of a crime boss (similar to a Mafia Don). Also, its tail is remarkably shaped like a rose or a bouquet of roses, perhaps resembling the rose that many Mafia Crime Bosses stereotypically wear in their shirt pockets.
In the video games
It is famous for being the evolved form of Murkrow, which can only be received by giving a Murkrow a Dark Stone, a new stone introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl along with the Light Stone. It seems to be a reverse of Misdreavus and Mumage, who are obtained only in Pearl, whereas Murkrow and Donkarasu are obtained only in Diamond; additionally, both Misdreavus and Murkrow evolve using the Dark Stone.
Its Strong Luck ability, introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, raises the probability that Donkarasu will score a critical hit.
Donkarasu has very high Attack, high Special Attack and above-average Speed (although it is interesting to note that its speed is in fact much lower than its previous form, Murkrow, maybe because of its larger build); this, coupled with Donkarasu's somewhat wide array of moves, makes Donkarasu a useful offensive Pokémon. Its defenses, which made Murkrow unpopular in competitive play, were improved enough for Donkarasu to have a rightful place in competitive play, but not nearly in the ranks of pokemon like Kingdra and Swampert.
