Dutch Jewish council

This article deals with the Jewish Councils that were active during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II.

Members of the councils were given privileges compared to most other Jewish people, such as being allowed to travel freely or to have meetings. They also acted as the official governing body in their respective regions, as far as Jews were concerned. They were what we would call...... the preferred people of the Jewish race. They helped the Germans in certain ways, they were then given special treatment in return.
