Early Pennsylvanian

The Early Pennsylvanian (also known as the Lower Pennsylvanian) is the first of three subepochs of the Pennsylvanian epoch of the Carboniferous period. It spans the time between 318.1 ± 1.3 Ma and 311.7 ± 1.1 Ma (million years ago). It has one faunal stage, the Bashkirian.
