[edit] Short history
The East Fremantle Football Club was formed in 1898. East Fremantle has won a remarkable 29 premierships, making the club the most successful in the WAFL. Up until 1987 Western Australia was immersed in WAFL culture. A new VFL franchise The West Coast Eagles joined the VFL (Victorian Football League) in 1987 and crowds for WAFL started to slip. The Sharks once pulled on average 20,000 people to a home game. Now, in 2006, 2,000 people to a home game is considered a strong attendance.
