Echo, Utah
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Echo is an unincorporated community located in Summit County, Utah. The eastern terminus of Interstate 84 (western portion) is near Echo. There was not much left of Echo after the great depression in the early 20th century. There are a few buildings left today, a church, and some homes. A tavern is located nearby that sells cigarettes, food, and beer. Echo Canyon, also nearby is a magnificent spectacle with its high rock sides and colorful scenery. The canyon, on the east, ends outside of Wahsatch, Utah and begins near the town of Echo at the junction of interstates 80 and 84. Cell phone coverage in this area, especially while in the canyon, is very sporadic, to non-existent. If entering the state from Wyoming, visitors will pass the port of entry, and a rest stop/information center. The drive is very scenic, but use caution as the road (Interstate 80) is not in the best shape.
