Talk:Edward Bowes

I believe in giving lots of lattitude, but to me, to state that Major Bowes would have been a major 1950's TV star had he lived a little bit longer is both retro-crystal-balling and POV, as well as unverifiable. Had he lived until, say, 1954, the time by which network TV was in nearly all major U.S. cities, Bowes would have by then been 80, hardly the typical age of a "new" TV star, and few celebrities his age made a smooth transition from radio to TV; most of those who did so were, like Red Skelton, Bob Hope, and Dinah Shore, considerably younger than Bowes.
