European Democrat Union

The European Democrat Union is the European wing of the International Democrat Union. It contains both Christian Democrat and Conservative political parties.

• Czech Republic - Civic Democratic Party
• Denmark - Conservative People's Party
• Estonia - Fatherland Union - National Conservative Party, Res Publica Party
• Finland - National Coalition Party
• France - Union for a Popular Movement
• Germany - Christian Democratic Union, Christian Social Union of Bavaria
• Greece - New Democracy
• Hungary - Hungarian Civic Union
• Italy - Forza Italia, Union of Christian and Centre Democrats, South Tyrolean People's Party
• Norway - Conservative Party
• Portugal - Social Democratic Party
• Russia - Union of Right Forces
• Slovenia - Slovenian Democratic Party
• Spain - Popular Party
• Sweden - Moderate Party
• United Kingdom - Conservative Party

Many IDU/EDU members are also members of the Christian Democrat and People's Parties International and its European wing, the European People's Party (EPP). Some of the more conservative members, most notably the British Conservative Party, are not. For matters pertaining to the European Parliament these EDU members presently sit in a subgroup known as the European Democrats.
