Ούγκο Γκρότιους

Ο Ούγκο Γκρότιους (Hugo Grotius, Huig de Groot, Hugo de Groot, 10 Απριλίου 1583 - 28 Αυγούστου 1645) ήταν διάσημος Ολλανδός πολιτικός και λόγιος. Υπήρξε άριστος γνώστης των ελληνικών γραμμάτων, καλός ιστορικός, περίφημος θεολόγος και συγγραφέας. Τα σημαντικότερα έργα του είναι Περί Δικαίου και λείας και Δίκαιο πολέμου και ειρήνης, που αναφέρεται στις σχέσεις δικαίου μεταξύ των ανθρώπινων κοινωνιών.
