Agnieszka Radwańska (born 6 March 1989 in Kraków, Poland) is a Polish tennis player. She defeated Tamira Paszek of Austria to win the 2005 Girl's Singles Championship at Wimbledon.
In May 2006, she played in her first WTA tournament in Warsaw (Tier II), where she reached the Quarterfinals (thanks to a wild card given to her by the organizers). In her first match she sensationally defeated # 7 seed Anastasia Myskina 6:4, 4:6, 6:4. In the second round she easily beat Klára Koukalová, reaching the Quarterfinals where she lost to Elena Dementieva in three sets.
In June 2006, Radwańska won the second Grand Slam title for juniors defeating first seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final of Roland Garros in Paris. She reached the top of the ITF rankings and received a wild card for the ladies's main draw at Wimbledon.
In Radwańska's debut at Wimbledon, she reached the fourth round as a wildcard, losing to No. 2 seed and eventual semifinalist Kim Clijsters. Radwańska became the fifth ever wildcard to reach the fourth round, as well as the third Polish player to go that far at Wimbledon.
In August she managed to qualify to US Open where she reached the second round beating Zi Yan of China 6:0, 7:5, eventually losing to Tatiana Golovin of France.
At the end of October 2006 Agnieszka Radwańska was playing in Luxemboug, where she reached the semifinals by defeating number one seed Elena Dementieva 7:5, 6:2. On her way to the quarterfinals she defeated Mara Santangelo and former number one Venus Williams. Eventually she lost to Francesca Schiavone of Italy.
