Anthony Brown (Candy Candy)

Anthony Brown is a fictional character from the Japanese novel, manga, and anime series Candy Candy. In the story, he becomes the first true love of the heroine Candy.
The relationship between Anthony and Candy becomes troublesome with the constant work of Candy's nemesis, but in the end Candy and Anthony are able to stay together. Their relationship is cut short when Anthony Brown is killed after falling from a horse. Candy was the only one to witness his death, which leaves her with a terror of horses.
Anthony was a secondary character, only appearing in 20 of the series' 115 episodes. However, he still remained a popular character. Many fans waited until the last episode, hoping he would turn out to be alive. This does not happen; instead Candy finds her "Prince of the Hill" in another character, Albert, who in the end turned out to be the "Great Uncle".
