[edit] Sub specie aeternitatis
The Latin expression, sub specie aeternitatis roughly means from the aspect [perspective] of Eternity. It is usually used in the religious and philosophical literature in the sense that one must not focus one's thinking and acting on the evanescent present, but on the the eternal truths that all exist simultaneously to God.
The expression was used by Spinoza in his 1677 philosophical opus Ethica more geometrico demonstrata Part 5, Prop. 29. ff.
Spinoza uses the expression, to characterize the perspective of philosophers. The philosophic mind does not see things in their misleading mulitiple appearances, but as the one and only infinite and eternal substance, which he calls God or Nature (deus sive natura). Because species also means form, one could also freely translate the expression as in form of the eternal substance.

[edit] "Fiat ars - pereat mundus"
"Fiat ars - pereat mundus" This Latin phrase translates to "Let there be art, though the world shall perish." It is used in Walter Benjamin's essay "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" in reference to the fascist aesthetization of politics. The phrase also invokes the fascist tendency to use war as a means to achieving "artistic satisfaction of a sense percetption." Essencially, it leads to the notion that war is the ultimate culmination of fascism.

[edit] Joas Croppenburg
17th century Dutch engineer. Among his many acheivements which included establishing a world-famous habeadashery boutique in London's exclusive Cheapside, his single-handed reclamation and drainage of Canvey Island, Essex, in 1621 was the feat for which the Croppenburg name became forever covered in glory. For this work he was awarded one third of the reclaimed land, and a Walk, Lake and Sluice were named in his honour. His work on Canvey has been erroneously credited to the more famous but vastly inferior Dutch engineer Cornelius Vermuyden. It is not known how long Croppenburg resided on Canvey, but it is beleived that he established one of his trademark habeadashery boutiques in the "Fuyther-wyke" area, which he named Pollards.

They appear to have had a number of rulers, although the type of authority and how that authority was exercised remains uncertain. Probably the most famous of their leaders was don Juan Colque Guarache, who finished his days in Potosi as one powerful link between the Colonial authorities and the mass of Indians at his home place. His ancestors, many of them carrying the name Colque or Guarache, date from back to the 1300s. The Quillaca form part of what is today known as Aymara Chieftainties.

[edit] Jordan Schlanger
was born in New York into a family of artists, designers, musicians, naturalists and inventors. Surrounded by a fertile environment of creativity, Jordan started making jewelry for family members by the age of four. Throughout his early years, Jordan was recognized as a prodigious creative talent. His devotion to the interrelated fields of music, sculpture and design was manifested at every level of education, forming a unique background for the fine jewelry collections he produces from his New York City studio. In the years before art school, Jordan pursued his passion for design and continued an intensive study of jewelry and art, ultimately enrolling in New York's Cooper Union School of Art to obtain a degree in sculpture.
While producing sculpture installations at Cooper Union, Jordan simultaneously developed a collection of furniture, a collection of porcelain dinnerware, and an ambitious collection of wearable works of art, which reflected his inspired, sculptural themes and an innovative approach to the materials and mechanics of jewelry design. It was this collection that was presented at the premier gallery for jewelry, Artwear, in 1990, inspiring a comprehensive response from the fashion press and relationships with the most prestigious retailers worldwide.
Jordan Schlanger is now a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and of the International Jewelry Design Guild. His work appears regularly in magazines such as Vogue and In Style. He has been personally photographed and interviewed for Vogue magazine and Women's Wear Daily, and has appeared live on CNN. His jewelry is collected by celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Tina Turner, Courtney Love, Joan Collins, Uma Thurman, Halle Berry, Susan Lucci, Jane Pauley, Katie Couric, Judy Bloom, Carol Burnett, Stephen Tyler, Mia Farrow, Mike Myers and others. His work is worn by prominent news anchors and appears in films and television productions, most recently 'Sex and the City'. Jordan has collaborated with fashion designers Donna Karan, Mark Eisen and Han Feng.
Jordan Schlanger's fine jewelry collections focus on the classic. Powerfully inspired by nature, Jordan draws from his years of sculpture and design to create exquisitely crafted fine jewelry that is meticulously engineered. Whether organic and gestural, bold and sleek, or subtle and reductive, Jordan's unique approach to metal, materials and form has expanded the possibilities of jewelry design, allowing for a new aesthetic freedom and an entirely enhanced consideration of the needs and desires of the wearer. His quest for the highest quality, technical innovation and truly inspired, classic design seeks to imbue natural forms with the touch and gesture that is sensitive to the wearer's body, eye and spirit. Each piece reflects his philosophy that design is a form of communication and that jewelry is the most permanent, personal and tactile form of design.

[edit] Star Wars Gangsta Rap Special Edition
The Star Wars Gangsta Rap Special Edition that was made in 2004 by BentTV Reality. The original, inicially named the Star Wars Gangsta Rap classic edition, had less elaborate movements and mainly showed only the characters rather than actual scenes. In the special edition, the animation seems to come to life as the animators took the drawings for the classic edition and completely redid them, adding different line texture and shading the colors. They also included backgrounds from actual scenes in the Star Wars Saga. However, through all these changes, the lyrics to the song itself were entirely left untouched, although there were sound effects from the real films that were added.
[edit] Visual Synopsis
The intro reveals the Tantive IV station quickly passing by the camera, being followed by a Star Destroyer. It then shows a close-up of the underside of the station where a smaller ship is being pulled up. At the same time, Darth Sidious appears in the upper left-hand corner. Then as he dissapears, Darth Vader shows up in the opposite corner. The two of them start exchanging lines, with occasional clips from the opening scene from A New Hope when Tantive IV was being captured by the Galactic Empire.
Soon, the two characters begin actually singing the first verse, with Darth Vader is shown bowing down to Darth Sidious as the two of them continue their exchanging, although now Darth Sidious appears as his holographic figure. Then sudden pictures of the Death Star with Imperial Stormtroopersbeing shown in front of it begin flashing on the screen as Vader repetively sings: "We got Death Star!". The many sudden flashes climaxe with the explosion of Alderaan. Darth Vader and the stormtroopers slowly dissapear, and the first interlude is entered.
The camera cuts to the planet of Tatooine at the Lars moisture farm, with Luke Skywalker working on a landspeeder while his Uncle Owen shouts demands at him. Luke then raps the second verse while the camera turns as Luke does several rap motions with his hands.
The bridge into the third verse shows the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi telling Luke to "Run to Degobah." Then Yoda is shown doing a flip into the air with his lightsaber as he sings the third verse. Then, Luke and Yoda together exchange lines debating over the fact that Luke should go to Cloud City and face Darth Vader.
Luke then gets into the cockpit of his X-wing and the second interlude follows, with Luke enjoying a gin and tonnic. Luke's X-Wing is then shown swooping towards Cloud City. Then the famous scene from The Empire Strikes Back in which Darth Vader and Luke duel for the first time is rehearsed as the fourth and final verse. Nearly the exact same lines in perfect chronology are sung - excpet for after Vader severs off Luke's hand and Luke cries "Oh! Why'd you slice off my hand?". The same backgrounds - the Cloud City airshaft and the walkway above the abyss - are also being shown as the two make their way. Finally, Vader begins singing "I'm yo fatha, I'm yo fatha!" As a group of stormtroopers appear in front of Luke doing a typical gangsta rap wave while Luke mouths out, "NOOOOO!". The outro is shown with Han Solo continuosly telling Luke to "knock 'em out the box". as the same line is being sung over and over, Luke is shown suddenly attacking Vader quite agressively and finally cutting off his robotic hand. During the end credits, short clips from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi that have been slightly changed to seem more "rap-ish" and made animated are shown.

[edit] Gaba 1 to 1
Gaba 1 to 1, or simply Gaba, is an English conversational school ,"eikaiwa", in Japan. It was established in 1995 and as of 2006 it has schools in the Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo areas. The company's current slogan is "Helping people achieve their most audacious life goals." or in Japanese,"私たちは大胆不敵人生目標に挑む人々を応援します。"
Gaba strongly promotes itself as a Man to Man English conversational school. Therefore, each English lesson taught at its schools, referred to as learning studios, is one to one. Unlike other large "eikaiwas" Gaba does not soley hire teachers from native English speaking countries. Many people from other nationalities, including Japanese, are currently teaching English at their schools. However, all these teachers must have first demonstrated that they meet Gaba's qualifications which require a native level of English. As a result of its hiring policy Gaba has succeeded in creating a multicultural teaching environment. This is a fact the company emphasizes when advertising.

[edit] Genital Jewelery
Genital jewelery (Jewelry in American English), also known as sex jewelery and adult jewelery, is jewelery which is designed specifically for wear on or to accentuate the genitals.
It can range from nipple rings to cock rings and vaginal jewellery as well as anal jewellery (including butt-plugs). These items often blur the line between jewelery and sex toys - the latter of which are also often highly adorned (dildos in particular have for centuries been found in highly decorative and artistic versions). While some have been around since at least Victorian times (e.g. Prince Albert piercing jewelery), a recent increase in popularity and social acceptance has resulted in the fusion between function and fashion that is sex jewelery.

Ursula Askham ('U. A.') Fanthorpe, a significant English poet, was born in Kent in 1929.
She was educated in Surrey and at St Anne's College, Oxford, where she received a first-class degree in English language and literature, and subsequently taught English at Cheltenham Ladies' College for sixteen years. She then abandoned a respectable salary for jobs as a secretary, receptionist and hospital clerk in Bristol, after training as a counsellor; this experience pitchforked her into poetry.
Her first volume of poetry, Side Effects, was published in 1978. She was 'Writer-in-Residence' in Lancaster from 1983–'85, and after that, Northern Arts Fellow at Durham and Newcastle. In 1994, she became the first woman to be nominated for the post of Professor of Poetry at Oxford. In 1987 Fanthorpe went freelance, giving readings around the country and occasionally abroad. Many of her poems are for two voices, and in her readings, the other voice is that of Bristol academic and teacher R. V. (Rosie) Bailey, who has also been her partner for many years. Her nine collections of poems were published by Peterloo Poets; her Collected Poems came out in 2005. Fanthorpe is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and was made CBE in 2001 for services to poetry. In 2003 she received the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry.

This is an update of the pioneering work by Lord Medway (1972) and Payne et al. (1985) on the distribution of bats in Borneo. Since most of the areas then were inaccessable, the work are confined lot limited localities. Over the last 10 years there were several works being published from surveys in Kalimantan, Sabah and Sarawak.
The following listing of species and updates from various recent sources to facilitate research interest from biologists outside Borneo.

A paper fanzine started in France in the mid-nineties and then moved to the Boston area in 1996. The paper version is available in Canada, France, Belgium and Switzerland. An online version also appeared in 1998. It was the first French fanzine to use newsprint instead of the more traditional offset printing used in Europe. Being based in the States it was highly credited with giving European readers an early preview of new musical trends especially emo and metal hardcore. It enjoys to this days a privileged complicity with American labels and publicists. It focuses on independent types of music and finds it background in punk music though it has spread its wings to many other types of music since its introduction.

[edit] Amaya
(Sanskrit: a + māyā): free from illusion or deception, the boundless one, beyond the 'Maya' (a concept in Hinduism that represents our limited, illusionary perception of reality).
The 'a' (ah) is a prefix used in Sanskrit as an antonym, very loosely meaning “not” or “without” much like 'mis’ in misinterpret (it is used similarly in the Sanskrit words dharma and adharma). Maya comes from the Sanskrit root Matr which literally means “to measure” (the root is related to words like matter, material, matrix, meter) and rhetorically comes to mean "effect," "form,” “limit" or create "illusion."

Reign of the Puff Demon By C. A. Dodson 9/15/2006
It has been a force to fear on earth for a millennium. It is worshipped by many who believe it is good, and of nature, and of God. Science has proved it is not. It’s victims are both participant’s and bystanders, forced to tolerated it, for lack of strength to resist.
In it’s possession, men women and children are either addicted to it or repelled by it. It’s a lime green monster that hovers around the head like a mask or helmet of fog. It forms the face of a puffer fish with glowing red eyes and posh lips. It has an fierce, angry look in it’s eyes, yet it seems to want to kiss, everyone.
My woman and I were at a classy, gorgeous place. Enjoying a meal and scenery, overlooking the ocean. We were just trying to breath and relax in the crisp cool air. Without warning we were assaulted by a Puff demon. It assaulted our eyes and sinuses. It left an awful stench in our clothing. My wife’s blood pressure was elevated. She had an instantaneous headache. Being the polite woman she is, she tried to hide her pain. I was bit more aggressive. I resisted the demon. It went away. But the damage was already done. A special moment ruined.
It chuckled as it floated away. Seemingly aware of it’s offense, with amusement. I watched flowers wither at it’s passing. Some of the elderly nearby, also withered and died. Suddenly, others joined it. They popped up everywhere. Each with their own hellish sulfur, stench, and ash, leaving litter in their path, for others to clean up behind them.
I wondered, what if my wife were possessed by a Puff demon? How can I fight a thing that infiltrates the very air I breath. Today it was wearing the body of an attractive young woman. Floating around her head. So I thought, if I didn’t have a commitment, might I have been embraced and consumed by a demon that repels me. One that brings a open kiss. The kiss of death.
Well,... It’s happened before.
Creation By Clay Alexander Dodson. 716 Main St. South Williamsport Pa. 17702
It’s obvious by now that this a smoking cessation campaign. Hope you enjoyed it. Me Mom and Dad died from cancer. Dad was the smoker, Mum the victim. If you should see on of several commercials on television featuring the Puff Demon, you’ll know it’s created a life of it’s own.

[edit] Turkish Delight the Opera by Giles Howe and Katy Lipson
Turkish Delight the Opera is a new theatre piece by Giles Howe and Katy Lipson which premiered 13 April 2006 in London. Taking one year to write, the second run of it finished in August at The Black Cap in Camden, London. Both a gala performance and a Swedish traslation are being planned. A musical and an opera but nothing like operetta, it creates a genre of it's own. Two of the lead roles were written for coloratura Jane Garratt and tenor Gareth Bretherton, who both starred in the first workshop production alongside Jess Negus and Aleksander Albreht. The second run starred Gareth again (Laine Theatre Arts), also Natasha Day (RCM), Daniel Lawrence, and Sophie Juge (Elmhurst) and was directed by Rebecca Parry (AADA).
The official website is hosted on myspace at www.myspace.com/turkishdelighttheopera, and the press releases can be found at http://www.amdram.co.uk/blogger/2006/03/unusual-new-opera-turkish-delight.html
A live CD is to be released shortly and will be available thorugh the official website and also at Dress Circle.
The show is acted by a cast of only four singers, the story of the show revolves around an ill-fated love affair and how it affects it's participants. Depending on your perspective (ironic or sincere) it is either a tragedy or a comedy. Opening and closing to standing ovations, though a fringe show, Turkish Delight is set to take the theatre world by storm. It blends the accessibility of the musical theatre and blends it with the depts and also the vocal agility of the opera, with particular regard to the lead role, Betsy Cohen, the murderous soprano Turkish wife.

[edit] Crunk young Gunz
Crunk young Gunz (CyG) is a group of 9 males that started this gang while they were in high school. The group or gang consisted of 9 hispanic male members. They're names were Stalin (Eddie Enriquez), Kumar(Tony Duenas), Kenji (Jess Ramirez), Pinky (Arnoldo Salazar), Ghandi (Allen Ceballos), Scarface (Ricky Estrada), Yetti (Nate Virto), Kool-Aid (Julio Chavez) and Wee Man (Pedro Valdovinos). It started out as just a High School group that had a table in the middle of the quad, which was the "cool" place to sit. But during the groups Senior Year Random and the NWA started hanging out with them. After Random died in 1995 by homicide conflict resulted between the 2 gangs. Stalin made a joke about Random's death to one of the NWA members and that NWA member (Dillon Rocket) shot Eddie with a 9mm pistol and this started a war between the groups. Through out the period of one day NWA came to GyG's hide out, which was an abondonded house in the hills of Fillmore, CA and killed all of them until only Kumar was left. All these deaths simply did not go to the police, not one file was made for any of the deaths. NWA simply took the bodies somewhere, no-one knows where, and NWA lived on. Nobody currently knows where Kumar is.

[edit] Seigo Yamamoto
Seigo Yamamoto was born April 16, 1971 in Takarazuka, Japan. He first became a pro driver at 18 racing souped up Honda Civics in the Civic and Mirage race divisions in Japan. He set track records at the Suzuka track in Japan which stood for a number of years. He opened his own tuning shop called [Garage-S] when he was 20 to help persue his racing ambitions. After a few years his customers began asking for what would later become the classic [Drifting] base, the SR20DET powered Nissan S13 180SX and/ Nissan Skyline GTS-t SR20DET or RB20DET powered versions. So at age 25 he would switch tuning and racing styles himself after recognizing that a trend was forming in an interesting new duelistic style of racing called DO-RI-FU-TO (Drift). He then decided it was time to specialize. He pioneered some tuning techniques and custom designed areo kits still being used by many drifters around the world today. Along with fellow racing associates such as Kumoi Atsushi at River Side Garage and others they customized cars that would feature at the Tokyo and Osaka Auto Salons and various competitions. To gain pro level skills and status he joined a group of avant garde young Drifters who would use the death defying hairpin turns and challenges of the Rokko Mountain range looking over Kobe City to perfect there techniques. Seigo Yamamoto is currently racing a OS Giken built KA24 powered Toyota Chaser in the 2006 Formula-D series. Falken Tires, OS Giken, K&N, Wise Sports, Sparco, Tein, Garage-S and Skye Service SPL are current sponsors.

[edit] 6 Months
"6 Months" is the name given to a philsophical outlook on life, developed to remind oneself of the importance of living every moment to the absolute maximum. Created in June 2006, the "6 months" value system was fostered by a group of young Australians who were faced with the possibility of perishing within a half-year period. Because of this, a decision was made to live with purpose, fun, and frivolity. It places significance upon every fleeting moment; doing random acts of merriment, saying what you've always wanted to say, and fullfilling your dreams. It is a popular outlook on life that has created a legacy empowering people to make the most of every day.

[edit] Loredana Brigandi
Italian classical pianist Loredana Brigandì is among the few pianists in the world to dedicate herself to the research, diffusion and greater appreciation of the unexplored repertoire of the past.
In 1996 her name became known internationally with the issue of the complete edition of Ignaz Moscheles' Studi op.70, in a world premiere recording for Nuova Era, which won outstanding praise from international critics and continues to receive abundant playing time on the most important Radio stations in Europe and the United States of America.
Towards the end of 1997, dedicating herself with increasing passion to the task of studying and researching great forgotten composers, Loredana decided to withdraw from her didactic activities which saw her, at an extremely young age, holder of a chair of Principal Pianoforte at the Conservatory of Reggio Calabria since 1984.
In 1999 the international music scene welcomed another world premiere from Loredana on the Nuova Era label. On this occasion she released the complete sonatinas of Friedrich Kuhlau, which, as with the Moscheles disc, involved partitions which were already available for purchase.
The search for unpublished works developed a few years later from the very impossibility of finding works which were not already recorded and published. In this context, driven by the desire to bring new life to the piano repertoire (somewhat lacking in the whole area of works from so-called minor composers) and by the thought of the quantity of splendid music waiting to be discovered, she decided that she should devote herself to the rediscovery of all those works that merited a return to prominence and which had caught her interest not only for what they offered to a researcher, but also for what they offered to a pianist.
In June 2000 she went to Denmark, where she found the Sonatas, Variations and the Rondos of Friedrich Kuhlau in the Royal Library of Copenhagen. In July 2002 she recorded these new works at the Swiss Radio Auditorium in Lugano in two cds were released a few years later on the Nuova Era Records.
Shortly rediscovered other significant partitions of the Hungarian composer Ignaz Moscheles ( 1794-1870 ) including Sonatas and Fantasies from her recording in June 2006 to be released shortly .

[edit] Lofty Mount Lu
Ming Literati
The work of tShang Xi and other professional court painters, designed to promote the official Ming ideology, is far removed from the venerable traditiion of literati painting, whiich also flourished during the Ming dynasty, but, as underthe Yuan emperors, was largely independent of court patronage. one of the leading figures was Shen Zhou (1427-1509), a master of the Wu School of paintinng, so called because of the ancient name (Wu) of the city Suzhou. Shen Zhou came from a family of scholars and painters and turned down and offer to servve in the Ming Buraucracy in order to devote himself to poetry and painting. His hanging scroll, Lofty Mount Lu, a birthday gift to one of his teachers, bears a long poem he wrote in the teacher's honor. Shen Zhou had never seen Mount Lu, but he chose the subject because he wished the logty mountain peaks to express the grandeur of his teacher's virtue and character. The artist suggest the immense scale of Mount Lu by placing a tiny figure at the bottom center of the painting, sketched in lightly and partly obscured by a rocky outcropping. the composition owes a great deal to early masters like Fan Kuan. But, characteristic of literati painting in general, the scroll is in the end a very personal conversation- in pictures and words - between the painter and the teacher for whom it was created.

[edit] Highland Auction Services Inc
Highland Auction Services Inc is a Florida Sub Chapter S privately held corporation. Formerly owners of many auction based websites such as barter-n-trade.com and thefrugalcook.com, they are perhaps best known for their formation of one of the internet's first niche auction websites, a ballet/dance oriented auction website called danceauction.com, which was subsequently sold in 2003. Danceauction.com under the direction of Highland Auction Services Inc, was one of the original sponsors of National Dance Week's annual photography contest, a tradition which continues today under the new ownership. Danceauction has struggled to maintain a foothold in the online auction business despite a positive review in the book E-Auction Insider as one of the 50 best niche auction sites. Highland Auction Services Inc subsequently transitioned into one of the largest Victoria's Secret wholesalers on the internet and ebay, but now specializes in media, due to a downsizing of the company.
