George IV William, (Polish: Jerzy IV Wilhelm z księstwa legnicko-brzesko-wołowskiego, German: Georg Wilhelm Duke of Liegnitz-Brieg-Wohlau, born September 29 in Oława (Ohlau), 1660, died November 21, 1675 in Brzeg (Brieg)) was the son of Duke Christian of Liegnitz-Brieg-Wohlau and Luise of Anhalt-Dessau and the last ruling member of the Silesian branch of Polish Piast dynasty. His uncle Augustus Graf of Liegnitz was the last legitimate descendant until then independent duchy of Liegnitz-Brieg-Wohlau.
The independent Masovian Piasts died out in 1526, the Cieszyń Line (Teschen) died out in 1625 and therefore George William was the last of all Piasts. Upon his death the imperial house of Habsburg took up the government.
