[edit] Organization
Seems like this should really be just one section of a List of racial terms. - dcljr 03:12, 18 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Considering the list is merely alphabetical and contains items regarding different racial crosses AND different languages, maybe it should be split up either into language/region OR by groups (e.g. General, Black-White, Asian-White, Asian-Black, etc.) --Dpr 16:15, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Mudblood and Harry Potter
The "Half-blood" links eventually points to "Blood purity (Harry Potter)", an article about children's books... doesn't seem quite right. 81.171.8.22 00:19, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
- Isn't "mudblood" fictional and confined to the Harry Potter series? While "mudblood" in the series parallels with real-world racism, classism and separatism, I've never heard it as a real-life racial insult. White supremacists, especially Matthew Hale, often use "mud" or "mud race" for the long list of people that they believe aren't white. -- Jaguara 21:19, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Confusing Spanish terms
Someone has added a bunch of Spanish terms of questionable validity. I did some google searches for some of the terms, and I haven't found them cited in any credible works yet. In any case, it seems like the more confusing ones ("There you are", "Stay in the air") are actually animal names. We should change the translations to reflect these. [edit] Anglo-asian
"Anglo-Asian — used in the United Kingdom for English and Asian"
It's not. Source? Or I'll delete at a later date .
For instance: "Morisco — used in Latin America for Caucasian and Mulatto. (Christianized in Spain as Moors)" It's not right, in Spain ans Portugal Morisco/Mouro refers to people whose ancestors or themselves were muslims living in the Iberian Peninsula or Northern Afica, not to people of black and white ancestry
[edit] Half-Caste
The term is not considered racist in the Commonwealth (which is, as far as I know, the only place where it is used). I'm removing it from the 'Offensive' catagory. The term basically means from two different societies/cultures, which a mixed race person is, and so is not offensive. SynthesiseD 19:01, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- I can concur that this term is not considered racist in the locations the article itself says its used. --90.192.92.220 23:30, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Genetic isolate
Is a list that only includes groups not agreeing with the definition... Rich Farmbrough, 13:17 9 March 2007 (GMT).
