Halala

Halala USA is a non-profit organization that aims to unite the Luhyas Living in the USA, and also plans to bring development to people of Western Kenya and to serve as a resource network.
Halala also aims to:
- Foster cooperation with Luhya business and community leaders to create an environment that favors development
- Promote sporting activities and extra curricula activities
- Stem diseases through community education programs and provide access to healthcare services
- Educate foreign-born Luhyas about the land of their ancestry, culture and heritage
- Halala intends to provide a comprehensive welfare program addressing among others; funerals, special events, and special circumstances.
[edit] Membership
Members will comprise of all Luhyas from Western Kenya by birth, marriage, or adoption. Any person considered eligible for membership and desiring to become a member of Halala shall become a member upon payment of a subscription as determined by the AGM.
[edit] Associate Membership
Shall be awarded to persons outside the circle of eligibility who:
- Have demonstrated their love and support for the goals and objectives of Halala
- Were born in Western Kenya
- Sponsored by an active Halala member or chapter
[edit] Language
The official languages shall be English and Kiswahili.
