IndiGo Airlines is a trading name for Interglobe Aviation a private domestic low-cost airline based in India. It is a subsidiary of InterGlobe Enterprises, a leading travel conglomerate based in Delhi, India. IndiGo placed an order for 100 Airbus A320 family aircraft during the 2005 Paris Air Show. The total order was worth US $6 billion; one of the highest by any domestic carrier during the show.

The new low-fare carrier, celebrated the delivery of its first A320 aircraft, on July 28th, 2006 and received its sixth that same year. Nine more are due in 2007 taking the total to 15. The carrier has set a target of serving about 30 Indian cities by 2010 with a fleet size of 40 A320s. The airline will receive all 100 A320 family aircraft by 2016. [1]
IndiGo will have 15 daily flights from Delhi to the cities of Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal,Mumbai, Kolkata and Pune.
Former US Airways Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Planning Bruce Ashby has joined IndiGo Airlines as their Chief Executive Officer. The Indian Government has approved the airline's aircraft import plan "in principle". The airline has also acquired 3 parking spots in New Delhi and Mumbai airports. [2]
