Liceo Classico

Liceo classico is a secondary school type in Italy. It lasts 5 years (about 14-19 years age students). The first two years are called ginnasio: in this year students complete studies of Latin and Greek grammar. Students follow a specific pattern of courses that covers a large range of disciplines, including Italian language and literature (all 5 years), History (5 years), Latin language and literature (5 years), 1 or 2 foreign languages and literature (typically English and others) (5 years), ancient Greek language and literature (5 years), Mathematics (5 years), Computer science (5 years), Philosophy and Art history and Chemistry and Biology and Natural science (3 or 5 years), Physics (2-5 years), NonVerbal-Multimedia Communication and Catholic Religion Instruction (optional).
