Machair (TV series)

Machair was a Scottish Gaelic television soap opera made by SMG Productions (Scottish Television) between August 1992 and September 1996 and broadcast in Scotland by the British television company ITV. A total of ninety-nine half-hour episodes, all shot on location on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, were made.
Scriptwriters for the series included the respected Gaelic poet Aonghas 'Dubh' MacNeacail and regular cast members included Simon MacKenzie, Anna Murray, Kenny MacRae, Duncan MacNeil and Tony Kearney.
