The Netherlands revealed that former Eurovision participant, Edsilia Rombley, would fly the Dutch flag in Helsinki. The Dutch entrant was selected internally by NOS, and was announced on 16 December 2006 [1]. On 11 February 2007, Edsilia sang three songs, in which she picked "Nooit meer zonder jou" to go to Helsinki. The songs were presented in the television show 'Mooi! Weer de Leeuw'. The candidate songs all came from Edsilia's upcoming album and were all performed in the Dutch language. Even though Edsilia had expressed her wish to sing in the country's native language, she has decided to sing the song in English under the name "On Top of the World."
Edsilia Rombley was born in Amsterdam on 13 February 1978. She is most prominently known from her participation in the Soundmixshow and the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1998, Edsilia was chosen to represent the Netherlands in Birmingham with the song "Hemel En Aarde". With the song, she reached a respectable fourth place with 150 points, which is the highest position the country has achieved since their win back in 1975. After two English language albums, Edsilia will release her first Dutch album in February 2007.
Edsilia will perform "On Top Of The World" in the semi-final of Eurovision on 10 May in Helsinki. She needs to achieve a top 10 result in the semi-final to proceed to the final. She will perform in the 10th position after Moldova and before Albania.
