Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Switzerland have selected their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Swiss television made an internal selection, and chose DJ Bobo as the winner from over 60 entries. On 21 February 2007, the song was revealed as "Vampires Are Alive" and it features a female vocal hinting that a female singer will likely accompany DJ Bobo in Helsinki.
René Baumann, also known as DJ BoBo, is a successful Eurodance musician. René has received numerous golds and platinums for his songs and has found success in Europe (primarily Germany and Switzerland), Israel, and South America. In 2004, as a result of the success of "Chihuahua", René was awarded the Swiss award for Showbusiness at the Swiss awards, an annual event meant to recognise high achieving Swiss people.
Prior to the contest, DJ Bobo travelled to Cyprus to promote the Swiss entry. DJ Bobo will participate in the semi-final evening on 10 May in Eurovision, hoping to qualify in the top 10.
