North Tyneside Council is the local council for the Metropolitan borough of North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom. Its mayor is John Harrison of the Labour Party. The council meets at Town Hall, Wallsend. A third of the councillors were elected as part of the English local elections of 2006. Three councillors are elected from each of the 20 wards meaning there are 60 councillors.

When Angie Potter was elected in May 2005, she was standing as a councillor for the Labour Party. However, in February 2007, she defected to the Liberal Democrats. She is therefore represented as a Labour Party councillor in the 'Past Election Results' section.
