Røvær
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Røvær is a small island in the county of Rogaland, Norway.
Røvær, Norway is off the west coast, close to Haugesund and Karmøy kommune. It has several hundred permanent residents, as well as seasonal residents and visitors who rent vacation homes or stay at the hostel. The permanent residents who are not retired support themselves either through farming, fishing or commuting to the mainland. There is regular ferry service between Røvær, Feøy and Haugesund and most residents also own a private boat.
During World War II the island was occupied by Germans and there is still a concrete pillbox on the highest hill.
