The Shire of Kulin is a Local Government Area of Western Australia based in the town of Kulin ( ; post code: 6365), located in the western part of the shire. It covers an area of about 4,700 km² in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia about 285km east-south-east of the capital, Perth. It has a population of 842 (ABS 2001) and the economy is based on agriculture - predominantly cereal grains and sheep.

In 1918, the Roe Road Board was gazetted. It was renamed to the Kulin Road Board in 1926. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1]
