The Missing is a 2003 film directed by Ron Howard, based on the novel The Last Ride by Thomas Eidson. Among other things, this Western thriller set in 1880's New Mexico is notable for the authentic use of the Apache language by various actors, some of whom spent long hours studying it.

Set in 19th-century New Mexico, Samuel Jones (Jones), a white man that has embraced Indian ways, comes back home, hoping to reconcile with his adult daughter Maggie Gilkeson (Blanchett). Maggie's daughter is kidnapped, forcing Samuel to form an uneasy alliance with his estranged daughter to work together to get her back.

The Missing made its free-TV premiere on FX on August 22, 2006 at 7PM/6C. It appears that USA Network has referred to this film as The Last Ride, but will premiere this film beginning in 2007.
