Warhawk is a vertically-scrolling shoot 'em up video game released in 1986 by Firebird software. It was released on several formats including the Commodore 64,[1] Atari 8-bit family,[2] Amstrad CPC[3] and Atari ST.
The 8-bit versions of the game were budget-priced (£1.99) releases on Firebird's "Silver 199" sub-label.
Warhawk is notable for having spawned two remakes.[citation needed][dubious — see talk page]

The player must dodge and destroy obstacles along a vertically scrolling screen. The end of each level has a large amount of ships flying at the player from many angles. [1]

Warhawk later had two remakes released;[dubious — see talk page] Warhawk for the Playstation released November 10th, 1995 and Warhawk to be released in 2007 for the Playstation 3.

The game did fairly well, considering the two remakes it later had released. On GameSpot, Warhawk currently has a User Score of 7.8. [2]
