Quest for Fire: Firestarter, Vol. 1 (2001) |
Fire and Glory (2005) |
Not for Sale (2007) |
Fire and Glory is Kardinal Offishall's third album, and his first since Firestarter Vol. 2 - F Word Theory was shelved, after MCA Records folded in 2003. The album was distributed by Virgin/EMI Records in Canada only. The long-awaited album by Kardinal featured collaborations with popular artists, such as Busta Rhymes and Vybz Kartel. This was Kardinal's follow-up to Quest For Fire: Firestarter, Vol. 1, and it was also his first album in four years.
The album produced three singles/videos in Canada. "Heads Up", "Feel Alright" and "Everyday (Rudebwoy)" are the hit singles, with the latter receiving heavy rotation on MuchMusic, and eventually accolades, to go along with the heavy airplay. In June 2006, Kardinal was awarded with three MuchMusic Video Awards for "Everyday (Rudebwoy)", including Best Director. Kardinal explained why he chose Fire and Glory as the name of the album: "You have to walk through the fire, to get to the glory. Having your ex-label dissolve, and then trying to get a priority release on Geffen/Interscope with Jadakiss and Eminem in the picture means my eyes are wide open now.”
