[edit] Fire sales in sports

I've been adding to this section slowly. However, the examples in this section might be biased towards events in the last ten years in baseball and hockey, since those are the two sports that I follow the most closely. Feel free to add additional examples. (If this section of the article gets too long, should it be moved to fire sale (sports)?) --Idont Havaname 04:51, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

It's a little difficult to have a firesale in football because of the complexities of the salary cap system, what with incurring cap penalties for certain trades and such.
