Cyphoma gibbosum Linnaeus, 1758 |
The flamingo tongue snail, Cyphoma gibbosum, is orange-yellow in color with black markings. It is around one inch (25 mm) long. It has a white shell (distinguishing it from nudibranchs), but the shell is usually covered by the mantle. It retracts the mantle, exposing the shell, only when threatened. It feeds on soft corals.
