Folgefonna

Folgefonna is a glacier in Hardanger, Norway. Folgefonna is the third largest glacier in mainland Norway, covering an area of 213,62 square kilometres. The glacier is divided into three distinct regions, Northern Folgefonna (25,41 km²), Central Folgefonna (8,93 km²) and Southern Folgefonna (179,28 km²). The glacier is home to a summer skiing resort, located on its northern region. It is also featured in one of Geirr Tveitts "50 hardingtonar frao Hardanger". One large outflow glacier from Folgefonna is the Buarbreen Glacier.
