The Fox Business Channel is a future United States-based cable and satellite business news channel. Owned by News Corporation, the network's initial audience is expected to be above 30 million people when the network launches in the fourth quarter of 2007.
The network has been in the works for a number of months, News Corporation has stated that they would not launch until the network reached at least 30 million people at its initial launch.
Roger Ailes, chairman and CEO, Fox News and chairman, Fox Television Stations will oversee the network, which has distribution agreements with operators such as Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Charter and DirecTV.
Fox chairman Rupert Murdoch confirmed the launch at his keynote address at the 2007 McGraw-Hill Media Summit on February 8, 2007. Day-to-day operations will be run by Kevin Magee, executive vice president of Fox News; Neil Cavuto will manage content and business news coverage. The channel will also broadcast worldwide including Australia.[1]
